Mack is often found wondering round the office mumbling “Who needs Sharapova?” questioning his decision to leave Sony Ericsson and the award winning work he did on their sponsorship of women’s tennis to set up a company in the middle of a recession. Whereas I’m sure Sharapova is saying “I need Mack!” Just look at her loss in form over the last eighteen months. Maria’s loss is Threshold's gain - he is the driving force behind us and for me an inspiration in striking the right balance between work, family and play. Far better than his balance in his kayak or should I say submarine in this year’s Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race.
Always the first to suggest a coffee run or a meeting at Caffe Nero, Charlie Beauchamp was recently voted the wisest member of the Threshold family. Whether it’s hard facts or numbers, lateral thinking or details, you can rely on Charlie. When he’s not flying backwards and forwards to Riyadh, negotiating various Threshold contracts or signing up athletes, he loves spending time with his family at home on Dartmoor in Devon, playing cricket and tennis if time allows and challenging Mack (or anyone!) to half marathons and 10ks!
What can you say about James Cracknell OBE? Tantalisingly tight Olympic finals that stopped the nation in its tracks, relentless determination to succeed, a talented writer and a phenomenal athlete. He's the walking, talking (rowing) God-Daddy of more is in you. We try to copy his drive and motivation. But we don't copy his tennis backhand: think giraffe on ice.
James Cracknell stole (or head-hunted) Emma from Middlesex County Cricket Club. She got stuck in at Threshold straight away, doing everything from turning a disused granary into our new home, to managing a World Record attempt. She’s the meticulous, warm, fun and fearless hockey-playing glue of the Threshold team. And she’s never afraid to take on yet another project, even if it’s running the New York Marathon...
on her honeymoon!
Maz has eagle-eyes and boundless energy. Ready for anything, when she’s not poring over details at work she’ll be on the slopes with her sisters or running a four-hour marathon, just like that.
Cassie came to Threshold with events experience in bundles – 11 years of it. She’s the first to suggest a 7.30am run in the countryside, followed by a healthy feast to kick-start her tireless work on our events. Her other mission is to persuade everyone else that we need an office dog.
A multilingual former FIFA exec and current coffee fiend, Adam navigates Threshold through our day-to-day work on international commercial football projects and is probably the quickest half-marathon runner in the office – except for James of course!
Office angel and Pompey season ticket holder Jennie joined the Threshold team straight out of University and ever since has kept the Directors in line and the rest of the Threshold team happy. Never afraid to get stuck in, Jennie gets involved in anything and everything including taking stick from Mack about the state of her parking!
We’re very lucky to have Lou on our team. With her sporting, sponsorship and corporate hospitality background, Lou brought bags of experience with her to Threshold. Lou is a wonderful team player – always positive and looking out for her fellow team mates (and makes excellent ‘posh’ coffee). When she’s not working her socks off at The Granary, you can find Lou getting muddy on the rugby field or peddling round the country lanes (usually looking for a nice pub) on her new bike.
Clare joined Threshold having spent two years working overseas in New Zealand, and she is now working tirelessly on Deloitte Ride Across Britain. If Clare isn’t organising the finer details of the next training ride in Hungerford, she is devising the extensive logistics for RAB riders. As a keen runner, Clare is the first to suggest an after work circuits class or even a lunch time gym session. With endless optimism and rarely seen without a smile, Clare is the perfect person to motivate and inspire riders on their latest challenge.
Tom could be described as Thresholds ‘most social animal’ which it seems directly coincides with his strong resentment for early and especially dark mornings. As he parties on, the office is poised for Tom’s wrinkles to set in, as despite his age, his youthful looks are the envy of all of us. Whilst we’re sure Tom maintains an excellent skincare regime, we could of course put this down to his love for the outdoors, windsurfing, skiing and grabbing fresh air whilst buzzing around on his scooter. Tom brings tonnes of energy, creative flair, big ideas and a big picture approach to the Threshold family. If you hang around long enough he may even be able to crack a joke or two as well, but don’t wait too long...
Penny’s drive and enthusiasm has seen her have an instant impact on Threshold; we shouldn’t have been surprised though, since she has rowed for Junior Great Britain in the past. Penny’s brand loyal if nothing else, it’s Innocent veg pots, real ales, red wine and no substitutes! Her good nature and no nonsense attitude make her a pleasure to be around and if you ask really nicely she might even show you how good she is at the drums.
