Event: Mitie London Revolution
Brief: Mitie were looking for an opportunity to help them raise money for their Mitie Foundation, improve their company’s level of employee engagement and to promote Mitie Services. In its second year of running, Threshold’s London Revolution event was a perfect platform for them to get involved with.
Response: London Revolution as a unique two day, 180-mile cycle ride celebrating the UK’s most iconic city and surrounding countryside offered Mitie a variety of opportunities to achieve their goals with the help of Threshold. In order to get as many employees as possible involved with the challenge, Threshold plotted some lower mileage routes aside from the 180, 100 and 80 mile options. At the overnight base camp Mitie wanted to engage with the public participants as well as their riders. They did this through the ‘Mitie tent’ which incorporated Mitie businesses such as Gather & Gather and Creative Events and provided the perfect atmosphere for riders to relax, do some yoga and stretching, tuck into some nutritious snacks post ride and enjoy a cold beer in the evening.
Results: Each year the event has gone from strength to strength with over 1,500 cyclists taking part on each day. Mitie has consistently recruited over 150 employee and client riders to take on the challenge. Mitie riders have successfully raised well over £50,000 for the Mitie Foundation which is focused on getting opportunities for people of all backgrounds to join the world of work. They look to keep this fundraising total rising through to the 2015 event.
