Building cohesion in a leadership team
Trainline’s senior leadership team had recently restructured and they wanted to build trust, understanding and cohesion. This was essential in order to ensure effective delivery of an ambitious growth plan.
Swapping the office for the Lake District
They were looking for a 2-day off-site event with a challenge element, which was accessible for all fitness and ability levels.
Kayaking, hiking and scrambling!
Based in the beautiful Lake District, the team set off on Day 1 with their kayaks and hiking boots. After a challenging day on water and land, it was time for a teamwork activity in the evening. The outdoor campfire then rounded off the day perfectly, as they slept in their mountain hut, looking ahead to what was to come.
Day 2 saw the team take part in a ‘Deep-Dive’, an activity focusing on identifying the dysfunctions in the workplace. After a 2 hour hike, they then took on a Ghyll scramble, traversing up and down rocks, in and out of the Lake District’s pristine streams. The challenges, exercises and location truly allowed the team to express themselves and work together fluently.
Best event I have ever done
“In my 20 years of working, the standout best event I have ever done with a team. You have definitely helped us go a level deeper in understanding ourselves and each other. I think this will prove to be a very pivotal moment for us. That’s a lot to achieve in 2 days!” Clare Gilmartin, CEO, Trainline
