Vodafone Foundation Epic Challenge Series

Building a series of fundraising events like no other

Vodafone Foundation’s fundraising campaign to #ShineALight for girls was set up to support girls at risk through charity partners; Unseen UK, Help Refugees and Shout.

They asked us to deliver a series of epic events across 12 months which were challenging enough to generate significant fundraising but accessible enough to engage Vodafone employees across the business. They wanted breath-taking scenery and once in a lifetime experiences…

What did Threshold recommend?

We landed on 4 Epic Challenges taking place across 3 countries. Two challenges were large team entries into our public events Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones and Deloitte Ride Across Britain. The other two, conquering the awe-inspiring Laugavegur Trek across Iceland and a (literally) breathtaking hike up Mount Kilimanjaro.

Who took part?

Over 150 people took part across all 4 events.

  • Participants came from across the globe to take part
  • Such as: USA, Singapore, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Hungary and UK plus many more.

How did we do?

  • On Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones all participants rated it 8/10 or higher
  • 97.5% of Deloitte Ride Across Britain participants said they would recommend the event to a friend
  • 100% of participants who took part in both the Kilimanjaro and Iceland events said it helped them foster closer relationships with their colleagues
  • Perhaps most importantly though, we helped Team Vodafone fundraise over £600k to #ShineALight for girls across all 4 events
